Sea view in Isaribi (No Children)

Clean, comfortable facilities. I love that all the large baths are private in addition to the private bath in the rooms. Their service is also top notch as always. Excellent communication via Booking.com messaging and email. They shuttle you to and from Izu-Okawa station. This time, my sister and I did their aromatherapy massage and it was amazing! I can't say enough good things. This was my second time at Isaribi and we stayed in a western room this time. They also have tatami rooms but both are great, just up to your preference. Thank you Isaribi!

After spending lots of time in the city, it was refreshing to find ourselves in this remote part of Japan. All the staff at Isaribi were incredibly friendly and welcoming and made it their mission to have us be as relaxed as possible. The private onsen was a real treat and we especially enjoyed the outdoor hot spring and the in-room hot tub. I'm not sure I've ever experienced a stay that left me so relaxed! The food was delicious and plentiful and was served to us by the staff each morning/night. Our Kaiseki dinner was probably my favorite meal of our 10 days in Japan. I found the bed comfortable and slept well. It was a bit stormy while we were there and I just loved opening the window and watching the sea/listening to the storms. If you are up for some hiking there are some beautiful coastal hikes nearby if you take the train a couple of stops north (hikes: Jogasaki coast, Tajima Falls).

What can I say? If you want to experience a Japanese onsen, it is perfect. The welcome with a small matcha and delicacies and, if necessary, a shuttle to pick you up at the station was exellent. The person who greeted us spoke very good English. The room was typical of Japanese inns with a hot spring inside (adjustable heat). The two baths are really good with a ‘first come first served’ system you can get in and lock behind you to have the huge onsen all to yourself. With this system you can go with friends/family or as lovers. We also had meals included, and they were truly fabulous, a big bravo to the chef. If you want quality, don't hesitate, It will really be worth it, if I go through Izu again I'll definitely come back. Thank you for the experience, it was really great.

A Slice of Paradise: Our Perfect Stay at Isaribi Ryokan Every trip has those special moments that make you think, “This—this is why all the planning, long flights, and expense were worth it.” For me and my family, our one-night stay at Isaribi Ryokan was that moment during our two-week trip to Japan this fall. From start to finish, everything about our stay was flawless—I genuinely can’t imagine how it could have be any better. Writing this review is my way of saying a heartfelt thank you to Isaribi and its incredible staff for an unforgettable experience. Pre-Arrival: The Warmest Welcome The hospitality at Isaribi started long before we even arrived. From the moment I booked, the staff were in touch, making sure everything was tailored to us. They reached out to confirm our arrival time, offered to pick us up from the train station, and even asked about dietary preferences. When I mentioned that my father doesn’t like raw fish, they assured me they’d prepare cooked versions of all meals for him (and boy did they deliver—more on that later). Their kindness and attention to detail instantly put me at ease and set the tone for what was to come. Arrival and Check-In As promised, a staff member greeted us at the station and drove us to the ryokan. Upon arrival, we swapped our shoes for comfortable zori sandals—and to my relief, even my dad’s size 13 feet found sandals that fit perfectly. While we waited for our room to be ready, we were treated to matcha tea and Japanese sweets in the lobby. The airy sitting area had breathtaking sea views, and there was even a coffee and espresso machine available for guests to use anytime, with both proper cups and takeout options. It felt like they had thought of everything. The Room: A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Comfort We stayed in Room 206, which is their largest room, and it was nothing short of spectacular.

Really nice place with both private and public onsens that are still basically private as you can lock them. We knew that the hotel is kind of remote so we opted for the included dinner and breakfast. Was so happy we did. Everything was fresh and so aesthetically pleasing. Delicious as well. We drove there and once we got to the front of the hotel, the staff came out and actually parked the car for us, which I thought was a really nice gesture. You also leave your shoes at the reception lobby and when you are ready to leave, they’re neatly placed facing outward at the door. Also super sweet. There are welcome gifts in the rooms as well such as little snacks and Sapporo beers. Overall no complaints and really enjoyed our stay. Would come back 100%.

The tranquility of the location and the town. The family history of the Property and Ryoken - such a beautiful story. Our dinner and breakfast host was wonderful, explaining to us each dish and answering our inquisitive questions about the ingredients, the local food and Japanese culture and traditions. The food - amazing. The chef is a magician! The train trip in along the coastline is wonderful. The private onsen - fabulous! We loved it!

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a one-night stay at Isaribi Ryokan in Japan, and the experience was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped through the traditional sliding doors, we were enveloped in the warmth of Japanese hospitality and charm. The accommodations were tastefully decorated with a perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional Japanese aesthetics. Our room exuded a serene ambiance that immediately transported us to a world of tranquility. The in-room onsen, with its meticulous attention to detail and soothing ambiance, provided an intimate and rejuvenating experience. The culinary journey at Isaribi Ryokan was a highlight of our stay. The kaiseki dinner was a masterful showcase of Japanese culinary artistry, with each dish thoughtfully prepared using the finest ingredients. The presentation was exquisite, and the flavors were an explosion of delight for our taste buds. The breakfast was equally impressive, providing a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary Japanese breakfast items that left us satiated and ready for the day. One of the standout features of our stay was the private, reservable outdoor onsens. As a couple, having the opportunity to enjoy these scenic hot springs in seclusion was a romantic experience that surpassed our expectations. The surrounding nature added to the overall ambiance, creating a serene and picturesque setting for relaxation. The staff at Isaribi Ryokan deserves special mention for their exceptional service. Attentive, friendly, and always eager to assist, they made us feel like honored guests throughout our stay. Their genuine warmth and willingness to go the extra mile added a personal touch that made our anniversary celebration truly unforgettable. For those seeking an authentic and immersive ryokan experience, Isaribi Ryokan is a gem worth discovering.

Easily the best service I have ever experienced. Upon arrival, the staff carried our bags and offered to park our car for us. The staff spoke fluent english, spanish and mandarin. Everything was seamless, the kaiseki dinner was so delicious and meticulously laid out. Don’t pass on this stay. It may seem pricey, but the private baths, breathtaking views and dinner makes the stay well worth every penny.

I loved everything about my room, the bed was amazing, the bathroom was super nice and clean, and the private bath was SO GREAT. There were huge windows in the room looking out to the forests and ocean, and the birdsong was so amazing. I paid extra for dinner and breakfast and that was an excellent decision, it was some of the best food I've ever had. I felt so pampered while I was there and the staff was not only very gracious, they also told me about local events in the area I could visit and shuttled me to and from the train station.

Incredible view from our 2nd floor room of the ocean! The Kaiseki dinner and the breakfast was some of the best food we had in multiple weeks in Japan and was served in our room, delicious across the board. Loved having a private soaking tub in our own bathroom! Also with amazing open-air windows with ocean view. Staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. Got picked up from train station. Excellent communication on Booking. l. Of note, Booking did not let us initially choose a room with meals, and so the ryokan reached out to us personally to ask so we could add on meals! also there was someone with nut allergy in our group, and they were very accommodating of that for the meals.
